James was born in Eastland on May 3, 1925 to Joseph E. Jones and June Nevada (Bransford) Jones. He met and married the love of his life, Mary Ellen Robinson, in Eastland in 1942. James retired as a long time plumber but was an avid fisherman and hunter who was a great dad and grandfather to all. He was a WWII veteran who served his country in the United States Navy.
He was preceded in death by his mother and father; his wife of 60 years, Mary; two daughters, Linda and Kathy; one sister, JoyLynn; 2 brothers, Jack & Nolan Jones; one granddaughter, Ellen Marie; and one grandson, Evan.
Survivors include a son, Larry Jones and his wife Judy of Abilene; one daughter, Betty Jo Castorena and husband David of Breckenridge; and his long time companions, Lillie Mae & Romo. He is also survived by 4 grandsons, Strawn, Brandon, Brad, and David Jr; 10 granddaughters, Becky, Julie, Jill, Tonya, Amy, Jennifer, Miranda, Brittney, Monica, and Kinsy Brook; 20 great-grandchildren; and 14 great-great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the ASPCA.
