William David Ackison, age 71, passed away on April 22, 2014.

William retired from Ohio Bell after 28 years of service.

He was a graduate from Rock Hill H.S. in Ironton, OH.

He held both ATP and Helicopter Pilot Certificates. He served 2 years of active duty in the U.S. Navy, 18 yrs in the Naval Reserves and 12 yrs until retired as a CWII with the Ohio Army National Guard.

He is preceded in death by his parents William E. and Mary Catherine Ackison, his brother John Ackison and sister Susan Sweeney.

Survived by his loving wife Katherine of 29 yrs marriage and his 6 children,

He was a 32nd degree Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite Mason, Valley of Cincinnati, member of Grove City Masonic Lodge No. 689 and member of the Grove City Chapter No. 502 O.E.S.

He also was a member at Highland Baptist Church.

Family will receive friends at the Schoedinger-Norris Chapel, 3920 Broadway, Grove City, OH from 10am - 12pm and 2-4pm Saturday, April 26, 2014 with a Masonic Service at 12pm. Funeral service will be held at 4pm with Pastor David Thomas officiating.

Internment in Wheelersburg, Ohio at a later date.

Survived by his loving wife Katherine of 29 yrs marriage and his 6 children, daughter, Denise (Jeff) Childers, Cynthia (Willie) Costello, son Richard (Melissa) Ackison, daughter Deborah Ackison, son Damon (Keri) Ackison. daughter Deanna (Jason) Craiglow and step-son Daniel Zborovsky; grandchildren, Eric, Stacey, Nicholas, Nathan, Royce, Zachary, Tyler, Samuel, Joshua, Pierre, Phillip, Victoria, Gabrielle, and Madison; step grandchildren, Ally and Kyle, great grandsons Jayden and Mayson, brother in-laws Gary R. (Sally) Harding and Stanley R. (Kathy) Harding. Also he is leaving behind 2 of his most faithful dogs; Aggie and Poppie.
