John B. Glass, Former Businessman, Succumbs -

John B. "Jack" Glass of 1504 West Second, a Grand Island businessman for many years, died Thursday in a local hospital. He had been ill for two weeks.

Mr. Glass was a lifelong resident of central Nebraska. He was born Aug. 14, 1883, at Cushing to Mr. and Mrs. John Glass. In 1913, he came to Grand Island and joined V. E. Evans in the founding of the Glass-Evans Company, an auto dealership. In 1928 Mr. Glass and Mr. Evans sold the dealership. Mr. Glass remained occupied with land and business interests.

He was an ardent sportsman and one of the original members of the Central Nebraska Gun Club.

He attended the First Presbyterian Church.

He was a member of the Liederkranz Society.

Mr. Glass and Miss Carrie M. Anderson were married Feb. 18, 1914 at Hastings. Friday, Feb. 18, they would have observed their 52nd anniversary.

Mr. Glass is survived by his widow; two sons, Edsel and Donald Glass of Hastings; four grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
