Albert C. Cromwell, for many years sheriff of Norfolk county, died at Blue Ridge Summit, Pa., at 10 o'clock Monday night. Mr. Cromwell had been living at Blue Ridge Summitt about three years. The body will arrive in Norfolk tomorrow and the funeral will take place at 2 o'clock the same day from H.D. Oliver's funeral apartments, 610-612 East Freemason street. The interment will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery.
On account of poor health Mr. Cromwell resigned his position of sheriff last year. He was a native of Anne Arundel county, Md., and had been a resident of Norfolk county for thirty years. He was 57 years old. He was sheriff of Norfolk county for twenty-three years and was active in local and State politics. He had been chairman of the Norfolk county Democratic committee and at his death was a member of the Second district and State Democratic committees. He was courteous, open-hearted, genial and kindly.
He is survived by his wife, a daughter, Mrs. Virgie Shepherd, four sons, Stewart, Albert C., Jr., Marshall and Oliver Cromwell, and a brother E.F. Cromwell.
Albert C. Cromwell, Jr., who lives in Norfolk, is at Blue Ridge Summitt with the rest of the family, who were with Mr. Cromwell at the time of his death.
