Mr. Atkins was born Jan. 25, 1906 to pioneer parents Daniel and Lenora Atkins on Atkins Road in Clements. He attended Clements Grammar School and Stockton College of Commerce. Later, he lived in San Francisco where he worked for Merrill Lynch. He resided in Sacramento before returning to the Clements area in 1932.
Mr. Atkins married Carolyn E. Elliott in 1937, and they farmed in Clements for many years util retiring in 1967.
He was a member of the Farm Bureau and the Lodi Travel Club. His pastimes were fishing and hunting.
Mr. Atkins was preceded in death by a sister, Stella Fleischman and two brothers, Del Atkins and Marshall "Pete" Atkins.
He is survived by his wife, Carolyn E. Atkins of Clements; a son; and a daughter.
