Dorothy was my Grandmother. The times we spent with her and Grandpa Mervyn were some of the best in my life.
Dorothy Glendora Howard, age 99, of Shelbina, Missouri passed away Saturday, Feb. 9, 2019.
Dorothy was born on November 14, 1919 in Shelbina, Missouri, the first child of Claude Edward and Gertrude (Darnell) Loflin. She was united in marriage to Mervyn Francis Howard on June 15, 1940 at St. Marys Catholic Church in Shelbina. Mervyn preceded her in death on April 1, 2001.
Dorothy graduated from Shelbina High School in 1938 and later attended Kirksville State Teachers College. She worked as a book keeper most of her life. She loved playing Bingo, crocheting, she was an excellent seamstress, quilting, doing puzzles and going to the casino. Most of all, she loved her time spent with her family and friends.
She is survived by one daughter, Jean Leftridge, and her companion, Bill Arment of Barnett, Missouri. One son, Jack Howard, of Hunnewell, Missouri. One brother, James (Sonny) Loflin, of El Paso, Texas. Two Grandsons, Michael Leftridge, of Shelbina, and Chris Howard and wife Amy of Lees Summit, Missouri. Three Greatgranddaughters, Kylee Leftridge of Hutto, Texas, Lily Grace and Emma Kate of Lees Summit. Several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one brother, Ralph (Bob) Loflin, Grandson, Douglas Leftridge, and one nephew, Robert ( Bob-O) Loflin -
