SABETHA -- Louise Barbara Althouse, 94, Sabetha, died Thursday, Feb. 21, 2002, at her home.
Mrs. Althouse was a seamstress at Haines Clothing store in Sabetha from 1936 to 1974.
She was born July 11, 1907, in Sabetha, the daughter of Michael Epple and Louise Fallscher Epple. She attended school through the eighth grade at Victory Rural School.
Mrs. Althouse was a member of Business and Professional Women of Sabetha and Sapphire Chapter No. 348 of the Order of the Eastern Star in Sabetha. She also attended First Congregational Church in Sabetha.
She married Fred H. Althouse on Aug. 12, 1926. He died Jan. 27, 1986.
Graveside services will be at 2:30 p.m. today at Sabetha Cemetery. Mrs. Althouse will lie in state at Popkess Mortuary in Sabetha after 9 a.m. today. The casket will remain closed.
