On the beautiful day of Wednesday, April 23, 2014, James 57, Left his earthly body to return home to his Heavenly Father, our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. James was a devoted man of faith, family and true friendship who had a heart of gold. This big handsome cowboy loved the outdoors, avid hunter, was a Master Sharp Shooter, enjoyed hiking & searching for arrowheads. He rode the Senior Pro Rodeo Circuit 06' thru 09'. He loved and appreciated all animals, except all those bulls he rode! James loved Christian and country music and loves to scoot a boot with his wife. He was a huge football fan, Go Colts and Broncos! James was born on October 19, 1956 in Ft. Worth Texas and raised in Austin and the Hill Country. He enlisted in the Air Force for 3 years where he schooled to become an aircraft mechanic. He attended South West Texas and A&M and much of his life specialized in Logistics. He also worked for the Senate in Austin. James final place of employment was with Zachry, where he was a procurement manager on the power plant side. James was such an Amazing man to everyone he met, he made everyone laugh and feel special. He was such a Blessing. To his wife Nancy, a true love story. James was a loving, caring and giving man. Always and forever they will be soul mates and best friends. To his 3 children, Jamie Abbott 36, Ashley Douglas 24, and Tyler Douglas 23 he was a father who shared love, inspiration, hugs & laughter. He was the Cool Dad. He was Blessed with his first & only grandson William Cash Douglas, 5 months, with high hopes of him being the next champion Mutton Buster! Preceding him in death is his father Thomas Abbott III. He is survived by his beautiful mother June Abbott and loving sister Lakota Abbott & his loving brother and friend Tommy Abbott. James also leaves behind his adoring family in Indiana. In laws William & Beverly Johnson, Bruce & Sheila Johnson,
Lucas & Elaine Johnson, Debbie, Mike & Angie
Roberts, Travis Johnson, Countless cousins, nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind many wonderful friends whom he calls family and his Blessings. James will be greatly missed by all, yet the impact of his love, spirit and smile will last forever. James's Celebration of Life will be Tuesday, April 29, 2014 at Community Bible Church 11:00am followed by burial at Boerne Cemetery. Family has requested bright colors and/or cowboy attire.
