OTTUMWA -- Harold E. Aeschliman, 90, formerly of 441 N. Quincy, died at 5:10 a.m. June 3, 2005, at Ottumwa Regional Health Center.
He was born Oct. 24, 1914 in Lancaster, Mo. to Serene and Mathelda Nalley Aeschliman. He married Doris McElhinney June 7, 1936 in Booneville, Mo. She preceded him in death May 14, 1998.
A resident of the Lancaster Mo. area all of his life, he was a farmer and construction worker before moving to Ottumwa in 1980. He was a member of the Wesley United Methodist Church and was a lifetime Christsian and Bible scholar.
Survivors include daughter, Sandra (David) Longdo of Ottumwa; two sons, Don Aeschliman of Amana and David (Barbara) Aeschliman of Green Castle, Mo.; three grandchildren, Tamara (Jeff) Hein, Dr. Randall (Cathi) Scott, Todd Aeschliman; five great-grandsons, Jacob and Nathan Hein, Devon Scott, Tyler and David Marty; three step-grandchildren, Erin Longdo, Shannon Cowan, Steven Longdo; three step great-grandchildren Dakota Boyer, Kassidy Cowan and Phoenix Fort.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Naomi Graves; and son-in-law, Paul Scott.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Sunday at the Wesley United Methodist Church with the Rev. Paul Smith officiating. Burial will be in Shaul Cemetery.
Visitation will begin 1 p.m. today at Reece Funeral Home with the family present from 1-2 p.m. Sunday at the church.
A memorial has been established to the Wesley United Methodist Church for the needy.
