Born January 6, 1913 in Berryman, (Henderson County) Texas. It does not exist today.

Putman was a musician and master craftsman, specializing in building guitars, violins and tooling handmade leather items.
He was a 32nd degree Mason and Past Master twice of Bloomfield Masonic Lodge in Scurry, TX; and also, a member of NAICAT (North American Indian Cultural Association of TX.
He served three enlistments in the U.S. Army and was stationed at Fort Warren, WY. in the 1930's.
Putman built several houses in his early career including the one for he and his wife, Lorena.
He was employed by LTV Aerospace as their Chief Inspector from which he retired after 23 years.
He then served as Constable of Precinct 4 in Kaufman, TX. in the 1970's.
He was a member of the Church of Christ at Styx, TX.
