Lorena graduated from Mabank High School in 1939. She married Putman Bateman on August 31, 1940, and they were blessed with two children during their long marriage.
She worked as a telephone operator in Dallas, Texas until 1944 and then became a full time homemaker when she and Putman moved to the Lively community near Kemp, TX.
She was a wonderful cook and grew beautiful flowers to compliment her lovely yard.
