WADSWORTH, RAYMOND PAGE "RAY," 75, of Louisville, passed away on April 29, 2011 at home surrounded by family.

Born in East Orange, NJ, he served in the US Navy from 1955 - 1964, achieving the rank of Petty Officer First Class aboard the USS Hornet as an Air Crewman. He was a member of the Olive Branch United Methodist Church in Finchville. Ray was a volunteer at Jewish Hospital (downtown), a model railroad hobbyist, member of Optimist Club International and enjoyed reading about military history.

Ray is survived by his wife of 35 years, Sandra (Shepard); sons, Raymond Jr. (Darlene), James Page (Michele), and James H. Thomas; daughters, Sherry Lynn Rymer, Laura Sillman (Chris); stepchildren, Shaune Ramirez (Greg), Kevin Petit (Nanci) and Brian Petit (Jodi); 16 grandchildren, Michael, Danika, Savannah, Justin, Jimmy, Nicole, CJ, Collin, Jonathan, Erin, Ryan, Steven, Caroline, Shepard, Grady and Finley; great-grandson, Owen; two brothers, Donald and Allen (Carol); and one sister, Judy Powers (Terry).

Ray's funeral service will be at Olive Branch United Methodist Church at 11 a.m. on Monday, May 2, 2011, with reception - luncheon following in the church hall for all family and friends. Internment will follow at Louisville Memorial Gardens East.

The family requests, in lieu of flowers, that donations be made to the Kentucky Humane Society, 241 Steedly Drive, Louisville KY, 40214.

The family extends special thanks to the Hosparus Team who cared for Ray so splendidly during the last few weeks. We will be eternally grateful to all of them.
