Elizabeth "Bessie" Reauveau was born in 1897 and was the daughter of Louis E Reauveau and Kathryn Roney. She was one of five children, the second oldest. They were a Catholic family and lived in Jenkintown. Her father was a plumber and school janitor and well known in the community.

Bessie was molested by her father and at age 16 she told her mother who immediately pressed charges... there was a jury trial in December 1913 and her father was acquitted. It was unheard of that a well thought of and respected man of the community would do such a thing. However, three months after the trial Bessie gave birth to a baby girl, Catherine, at St. Vincent's, an unwed mother's hospital. She gave birth to her father's child. The baby lived with the grandmother, Kathryn Roney, and died at only 2 years of age.

Bessie went on to marry Herbert Armstrong and had at least three more little girls. Her third child Mary was stillborn. Bessie died in 1922 at only 25 years of age from pneumonia, she left a grieving husband and a 2 young daughters; Elizabeth and Evelyn.
