Walker Bond, 90, of Lodi died Jan. 1 at a local convalescent hospital after an extended illness.
Mrs. Bond was a native of Missouri who at a young age traveled by covered wagon to Wenatchee, Wash., where she lived and started a family.
In 1937, Mrs. Bod and her family moved to Lodi. Though primarily a homemaker, she also worked for a number of years at Elizabeth Dress Shop as a salesperson.
She was a member of Emanuel Lutheran Church, a member of the World War I Women's Auxiliary, the Lodi 50 Plus Club, where she served as vice president and president, the Senior Singers, the East-West Club, Casa De Lodi Card Club and Social Group. She also enjoyed crafts and crocheting.
Mrs. Walker was preceded in death by her husband, Orvil Bond in 1974 and by three brothers and four sisters.
Her survivors include two daughters; two sons; eight grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
