He was born June 2, 1947 in Bloomington, the son of Charles C. Conley Sr. and Virginia M. Dahlquist. He was preceded in death by his father. He married Martha A. Payne on Dec. 5, 1975 in Bloomington. She survives.
Also surviving are his mother, Virginia M. Conley; brother, Charles C. Conley Jr.; brother-in-law, Michael (Teri) Payne; sister-in-law, Barb (Ray) Conner and several nieces and nephews.
He graduated from Normal Community High School in 1965. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He later served as a police officer for the town of Normal. He was a self-employed general contractor until he retired.
