Robert retired from General Motors plant 20. He was a mill-wright and welder by trade.
He is survived by his first wife, Patricia E. (Lewis) Stanley. They were married 55 years. Also surviving are 3 daughters, Robin (Dan) Dohner of Indianapolis, Regina (Joe) Carroll of Oldenburg, Indiana and Renee Smith of Anderson; 4 grandchildren, Tricia (Neill) Litmer, Bobby Thornsberry, Billy Carroll and Joshua Smith; 2 great-grandsons, Lane and August Litmer; and a sister, Eunice (Bob) Dalton.
Family members proceeding him in death were his parents, and brother, Tom Stanley.
Robert's family would like to thank all the staff members of the Critical Care Unit, who were so kind to him and the family.
Visitation will be 1:30-2:30 pm Friday at Robert Loose Funeral Homes & Crematory, 200 W. 53rd Street, Anderson. Services will be 2:30 pm Friday at the funeral home.
Robert's earthly body will be laid to rest later at The Garden of Eternal Life Mausoleum, Anderson Memorial Park.
