Services for Alyce M. Stevens, 77, of Grapeland, will be held on Saturday, May 3, 2014, at 2:30 p.m. at Stewart Family Funeral Home with the Rev. Chuck Bratz officiating.
Burial will follow in Kendrick Cemetery in Tyler under the direction of Stewart Family Funeral Home.
Mrs. Stevens passed away Monday, April 21, 2014, at Mother Frances Hospital in Tyler after a long illness.
She was born May 23, 1936, in Tyler to Albert and Mildred Gilleland Strait.
Mrs. Stevens grew up in Houston but later graduated from Tyler High School. She retired after 26 years with Texas Power and Light while living in Tyler. Following retirement, she moved to Houston and later worked for Sam's Club for 12 years.
Alyce was preceded in death by her parents; and her sister, Bettye Strait Khadhiri.
She is survived by her loving family including her daughter, Krystal Frank and husband Perry; grandchildren, Savannah Moyer, of San Diego, Calif., and Logan Frank, of Grapeland; sister, Carol Holley, of Houston; half brother, Thomas Strait, of Onalaska; two nieces, Darla Wilton and Terri Holley; and two grandnieces, Heather Stroud and Jenelle Thomas.
Visitation is scheduled from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, May 3, 2014, at Stewart Family Funeral Home, 7525 Old Jacksonville Highway, in Tyler.
