"Russell was born at Putneyville, PA. He moved with his parents, brothers and sisters to Rochester, PA in 1900. He attended school at Pfeiffer's school in North Rochester until 1903. He worked at St. Charles, Armstrong County from 1905 to 1906; Pot Works, Rochester, PA from 1906 to 1907; Dawes & Millers, New Brighton, PA from 1907 to 1909; Contracted building from 1909 to 1910. Moved to Cannon City, Colorado, 1910, married at Canon City, Colorado. Worked as a carpenter, steam engineer in brickyard, on a fruit ranch and night clerk in Strathmore Hotel in Canon City. Moved to California, 1912. Contracted carpenter & cabinet work in apartment houses until 1944. Moved to Hemet, California in 1914. On Maple Leaf Ranch - hay, hogs, horses and hot. Came back to Los Angeles in 1915. Engineer on Arden Dairy at El Monte, CA, 1915 to 1917. Back to L.A. in 1917. Worked at Boyle Mfg. Co., 1917 to 1938, then cutting engineer, 1938 to 1954. Retired, October 1, 1954. Russell was a member of the United Methodist Church."
