Ebbin A. "Fisherman" Arnold, 71, who made his home with a daughter, Mrs. Frank Jaynes, of Seymour R2, passed away Monday at 6:45 p.m. at the Veterans' Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky, following an illness of one year.
Mr. Arnold, a former construction worker and veteran of World War I, was a member of American Legion Post No. 89 of Seymour. He had resided in Jackson County for the past 23 years.
Born August 31, 1892, in Marysville, Missouri, he was the son of the late Lewis and Ada Arnold. He was married to Gladys Wineinger in 1918 at Brownstown. She preceded him in death on December 14, 1960.
Surviving are three children: Donald Arnold, of Seymour; Mrs. Floyd Emmons of Daytona Beach, Florida, and Mrs. Jaynes; two brothers, John Arnold, of Ellensburg, Washington, and William Arnold of Pierre, South Dakota; two sisters, Mrs. Glen Leck, of Bogur, Kansas, and Mrs. Sarah Tipton, of Ellensburg, Washington, and ten grandchildren and a great grandson. One son and one grandchild preceded him in death.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 1:30 p.m. from the Voss Chapel with the Rev. Dewy Allman, pastor of the Seymour Christ Temple, in charge. Burial in Mount Zion Cemetery.
Friends may call after 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Voss Mortuary.
