Mrs. Mary Emmett Gist Voiselle, age 88 of 205 Churchill Street, Union, widow of William Earle "Bill" Voiselle, passed away Friday, May 2, 2014.
Mrs. Voiselle was born in Union, December 21, 1925, a daughter of the late David Christopher Gist and Claudia Wylie Gist. She was a graduate of Union High School and retired from Bell South. Mrs. Voiselle was a member of Mon Aetna Baptist Church.
Surviving are five sons: Charles Randall "Randy" Voiselle and wife Betty of Ringgold, GA, Philip Earle Voiselle of Union, Jon Michael Voiselle and wife Nancy of Atlanta and Union, Robert David Voiselle and William Stephen Voiselle both of Newborn, GA; two brothers: Robert Wylie Gist of Union and John David Gist of Silver Springs, MD; nine grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren. Mrs. Voiselle was predeceased by two sisters, a brother and two grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday, May 6, 2014 at Mon Aetna Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Benny Green. Burial will be in Union Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Voiselle's grandsons will serve as active pallbearers.
Visitation will be held 7:00-9:00 PM Monday evening at the SR Holcombe Funeral Home.
Memorials may be made to Mon Aetna Baptist Church Building Fund, 1431 Lockhart Hwy, Union, SC 29379.
