The funeral of Mrs. Gus Haverly took place from the Baptist church yesterday afternoon and was conducted by Rev. I.N. Kimbraugh. Deceased was 47 years and leaves a husband and five children with a host of friends to mourn her departure. She was a Christian lady, ever ready for every good work. Her remains were laid to rest in the Mitchell cemetery.
Hugh Bass and wife, of Bedford, have been here a few days at the bedside of his sister, Mrs. Gus Haverly, whose funeral occurred yesterday, returned home last evening.

October 8th., 1899, at her home in this city, of typhoid fever, Mary Bass Haverly, wife of Gus. Haverly, age 47 years, 1 month and 21 days. She was a good Christian woman, a loving affectionate wife and mother and her death is a sad blow to the husband and children. She was a daughter of the late William Bass and was born at Redding, Aug. 17, 1852, and lived in Lawrence county all her life.
She left five children, William, Frank, Walter, Lizzie and Fred. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Kimbrough at the Baptist church, assisted by her pastor, Rev. Jordan of the M.E. church and her body was laid to rest in the Mitchell cemetery.
