Cordie Lehman Tucker, 93, a retired artist, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 3, 2006, at a local hospital.
Funeral: 1 p.m. Saturday at Western Hill Church of Christ. Burial: Laurel Land of Fort Worth. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Mount Olivet Funeral Home.

Cordie was born Oct. 31, 1912, in Hamilton County. She was a successful artist, belonged to numerous art associations and received many awards for her oil paintings. She was included in the 1984-85 publication, "Notable Women of Texas" for her achievements. Naturally creative, Cordie had a great zest for life, an entrepreneurial spirit and loved helping others achieve their dreams. She also had a lively sense of humor and was an excellent storyteller. Cordie traveled widely and lived her 93 years to the very fullest. A strong, positive influence on family and friends, she will be sorely missed by all, but left a legacy of beautiful paintings and precious memories.

Cordie was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Col. Henry T. Tucker, in Feb. 2000.

Survivors: Daughter, Sonya Birmingham and husband, Milt; grandchildren, Kelly Wann and husband, Steve, Tom Birmingham and wife, Janine; great-grandchildren, Josh Wann, Dean and Maddy Birmingham.
