Lillian Mae Beaman, 97, longtime Las Animas, Colo., resident, died Tuesday, Jan. 3, 2006, at Seasons of Life Nursing Home in Syracuse, Kan., where she had resided the past five years.

Lillian was born June 23, 1908, in Rocky Ford, Colo., to Ernest E. and Vivian Jackman Eads. She was united in marriage to Wilbert E. Beaman May 22, 1932, in Tribune, Kan. They farmed and ranched in the Cornelia area west of Las Animas.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Las Animas, serving several years as a Sunday School teacher. She was a past member of the Social Hour Club, the Kitchen Klutter band and the Jane Jeffersons Democratic party.

Lillian is survived by one daughter, Donna (Jimmie) Darnell, of Syracuse, Kan.; one brother, Franklin Eads of Bakersfield, Calif.; 12 grandchildren, 33 great granchildren and nine great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband Wilbert in 2001, daughter Janet, son Bruce, two sisters and one brother.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Jan. 6, at the First Baptist Church in Las Animas with the Rev. David Barber officiating. Interment will follow in the Las Animas Cemetery.
