Early Life: Nyle was born July 19, 1938, to Melvin and Eunice Shoell Shumway in Lindon, Utah. He attended Pleasant Grove High School and made the winning touchdown for the State Championship in 1956.
Life's Work/Service/Interests: Nyle owned and operated Shumway's American Service for 13 years, served on the Orem Police Force for three years, worked as millwright on several power plant overhauls and in the construction of schools, churches, as well as, many commercial buildings; eventually becoming a labor superintendent for two large construction firms. Nyle will be sorely missed by his family, friends and neighbors as a trusted friend who was always willing to help anyone at any time with only a moment's notice. Nyle Bird Shumway, unexpectedly passed away on Thursday, May 1, 2014. He was 75.
Survived By: His loving and caring wife of 49 years, Glenda; two sons, Boyd Vincent Wilkins (Lynda), of Payson, UT; Eric Moyle Wilkins (Bonnie), of Spanish Fork, UT; and brother, Jay Shumway, of Lindon, UT.
