Poor Health Causes Washington County Farmer to Kill Self
Despondent over ill health, John Clark, 64 years old, a resident of Washington county for about sixty years, committed suicide at 10:20 o'clock yesterday morning by blowing his head off with a shot gun.
Mr. Clark had been in poor health for about three years, it is said, and his condition gradually became worse, until his ailment became unbearable. He committed the rash act at his farm home, dying instantly.
Surviving Mr. Clark is his widow, one daughter, Lauretta, and two sons, Edward and Earl, all of whom live at the farm home. Two sisters, Mrs. James McLaughlin of Hastings, and Mrs. James Mattimore of St. Paul, beside two brothers, Edward Clark of St. Paul, and Thomas of Oklahoma City, Ok., who survive.
