Tom was a decorated U.S. Army Veteran of World War II, he lived most of his life on the Chicago South Side. After the war he and his family moved to Oak Lawn and were members of St. Gerald's Parish. He worked 32 years for General Motors Locomotive Division and was a member of the UAW. He is survived by his beloved wife of 61 years Vienna Michaelson, three daughters, Colleen (Christopher) Small of Old Saybrook, CT, Suzanne (Ron) Wittman of St. Louis Park, MN., Pam (Ced) Cemel of Naperville, IL., six grandchildren, four great grandchildren and his sister Mary Stenson of Hickory Hills, IL.
