Johnny Henry Davis Sr., Ph.D., 90, passed away Monday, June 7, 2010. He was a Navy veteran of World War II, a Mason and retired professor emeritus of agronomy at LSU. In 1970, he was president of the International Rice Festival in Crowley. Dr. Davis also was a longtime member of University Baptist Church. Survivors include his loving wife of 69 years, Ruth Maurine Davis; son, Johnny Henry Davis Jr. and wife Mary Ann, of Dallas; daughter, Patricia Exner and husband Jerry, of Baton Rouge; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Sam Thomas Davis and Clara Rory Buffington Davis; brothers, Jesse, Willie, Frank, Sam and Lucius Davis; sisters, Dora V. Smith, Eva Deberry and Nellie Anderson; two infant brothers and infant sister.
