CARTER, DIANA L. Age 71, of Brighton, Michigan joined her Savior in Heaven on May 1, after a courageous battle with breast cancer. She was born September 29, 1942 in Webster Parish, Louisiana to James Lay and Mary Tuggle Lay. She was a 1960 graduate of Minden High School in Louisiana. Diana married the love of her life, Ezra, on August 18, 1961 and they spent 52 wonderful years together. They moved to Michigan in 1968. She was a member of the Cornerstone Evangelical Presbyterian Church in Brighton, Michigan. She loved studying the bible, cooking, reading, decorating and gardening. She never met a stranger and always had a kind word. She is survived by her devoted husband, Ezra S Carter, Jr; her children, Karen (Dave) Suffecool of Powell, Ohio, Michelle (Tom) Hoskins of Tipp City, OH, and Ezra S. III (Crystal) Carter of Mt. Holly, North Carolina; her grandchildren, Colin Suffecool, Kylie Hoskins and Tommy Hoskins; brothers, Jim (Annette) Lay of Mobile, Alabama and Charles (Irene) Rogers of Paulina, Louisiana. Visitation will be held Sunday, May 4, 2014 from 5-8 p.m. at Cornerstone Evangelical Presbyterian Church on Hilton Road in Brighton. Funeral services will be held on Monday, May 5, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. also at the church with Dr. Richard Alberta officiating.
