The entire Needville community was shocked when Miss Betty Ann Graeber, age 12, passed away suddenly Tuesday afternoon, March 23rd, 1948, at 3:55 p.m. Betty Ann had been ill for some time but her untimely passing was a great shock to her loved ones and many friends.
Services for Betty Ann were held from the Needville Funeral Chapel at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, March 25th, 1948, and from the Immanuel Evangelical Church in Needville at 2:30 p.m., with Rev. William Scholze officiating.
Betty Ann is survived by her heartbroken parents, Mr. and Mrs. John C. Graeber; one sister, Mildred; and two brothers, J.R. and Leslie, all of Needville; her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Adolph Graeber of Needville and Mr. and Mrs. Broesche.
She was laid to rest in the Evangelical Cemetery in Needville beside her infant brother who preceded her in death a year ago. Pallbearers were cousins of Betty Ann. Services were under the direction of the Foerster Funeral Home.
