Allan T. 'Andy' Anderson, age 88, passed away on Friday, May 2, 2014, in his Ashland, Wisconsin, home. Al was born on June 9, 1925, in Ashland, the son of Oliver and Anna (Hobena) Anderson.

He served with the U.S. Army, Red Bull Battalion during WWII and was awarded the Purple Heart. Andy retired as a First Sergeant, after 38 years in the military, including the years he served with the Ashland National Guard Unit. He and Charlotte J. Ludack were united in marriage, in Ashland, on August 15, 1959. He was an installer and repairman for AT&T for over 30 years. He was a very proud member of the United Chequamegon Area Veterans for many, many years, past Exalted Ruler of the Ashland Elks Lodge, and a past District Deputy.

Survivors include: Charlotte, his wife of 54 years, of Ashland; his daughters: Maribeth Stephens, of Lino Lakes, Minnesota; Vikki (Eric Wunderlin) Anderson, of Minneapolis, Minnesota; and Kim (Theodore) Klemek, of Mason, Wisconsin; six grandchildren: Brendan, Dane, Mackenzie, Riley, Keller and Hunter; one great-granddaughter, Kellenah; and many nieces and nephews.

Andy was preceded in death by: his parents; two brothers: Oliver and John; and three sisters: Georgianna, Gertrude and Charlotte.

A visitation, for family and friends, will be held at the Mountain Funeral Home, in Ashland, from 5 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, May 7, 2014. Military honors, by the United Chequamegon Area Veterans, will be held at 7:15, followed by a prayer service at 7:30.

A Mass of Christian Burial, for Allan, will be held at 12:00, Noon, Thursday, May 8, 2014, at the Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church, in Ashland. Father Edward McKenzie, O.F.M., will be the Celebrant. His casket bearers will include: Brendan Stephens, Dane Bacher, Mackenzie Klemek, Riley Stephens, Keller Stephens and Hunter Klemek.

Interment in the Saint Agnes Cemetery, Ashland, will take place at a later date.
