Mattie Lee Lovell, 92, of Athens, died Sunday, May 4, 2014, at the Athens-Limestone Hospital. Mrs. Lovell was born December 23, 1921, in Limestone County to Jim E. Tucker and Winnie Harbin Tucker.

The funeral for Mrs. Lovell will be at 3 p.m. at McConnell Memorial Chapel with Don Osborn officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery.

Mrs. Lovell and her husband attended North Side Church of Christ.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Joseph William Lovell; five sisters and two brothers.

She is survived by one son, Billy Joe Lovell and special friend, Betty Nixon, of Decatur; three grandchildren, Melanie Lynn Sutton and husband, Victor Allen, of Elkmont, Kelly Delaine Coburn and Joel Patrick Lovell, both of Decatur; seven great-grandchildren, Christopher Allen Sutton of Athens, Richard Clinton Sutton of Fayetteville, Tenn., Emily BreAnna Sutton of Elkmont, Jason Blake Lovell of Los Angeles, Calif., Jacob Dylan Lovell of Priceville, Anthony Joseph Coburn and wife, Heather Kent Coburn, of Decatur; three great-great-grandchildren, Michael Scott Coburn, Preslee Grace Coburn and Kamryn JoAnna Coburn, all of Decatur.
