Martha A. Paciga Epps, 89, of Carbondale, died Sunday night in the VNA Hospice Unit of Geisinger Community Medical Center, Scranton. She was the widow of William P. Epps, who died in 1984. Born in Simpson, daughter of the late Thomas and Regina Pavlica Paciga, she was a graduate of Fell High School, Simpson, and retired from the dietary department of Farview State Hospital, Waymart. Martha was a member of the Trinity Episcopal Church, Carbondale, the Fell Twp. Golden Age Seniors and the Ladies Auxiliary of the Walter Paciga VFW Post 4712, Simpson. She also was preceded in death by a son, David; three brothers, John, Walter and Joseph; and three sisters, Regina Rupp, Agnes Stasiek and Rose Paciga. The funeral will be Friday from Joseph W. Scotchlas Funeral Home Inc., 621 Main St., Simpson, with services at 10 a.m. at Trinity Episcopal Church, 58 River St., Carbondale. Interment, Clifford Valley Cemetery, Clifford. Friends may call Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m. The Golden Age Seniors will meet at 4:30.
