Kathleen "Kay" (Negreira) Davies, aged 100, formerly of Bay Ridge, Far Rockaway, Valley Stream, Huntington and Shoreham, all on Long Island, New York, passed away on April 28, 2014 at Providence Place, Drums, PA, where she had resided for the past several years.

She was born March 16, 1914 in New York and was the youngest of nine children of Jose and Nora O'Connor Negreira. She met her husband, Gerard Joseph Davies while attending Bishop McDonald High School and they were married October 21, 1933.

Kay enjoyed playing golf and received several trophies from St. George Golf Club. She served as a member of the Huntington Tree Commission. Prior to her retirement, she was employed by Van Son Holland Ink. She and her husband Gerry, attended daily Mass and were active in parish life.

In addition to her parents and siblings she was preceded in death by her husband, Gerard J. Davies who passed away in 2005. She and her family recently gathered to celebrate the occasion of her 100th birthday. She died forty five days after her birthday party.

Surviving are her daughter, Kathleen McCarthy, Kingston; son Gerard Davies (Judy); grandchildren, Patricia McCarthy Wegener (Philip), Brian McCarthy, Andrew Davies (Gretchen), Gregory Davies (Lindsay), Douglas Davies (Erin), Deirdre McCarthy DeNero (Alan); great-grandchildren, Erika McEnany, Arleigh Walton, Stephen Wegener, Elizabeth Wegener, Madison Davies, Anthony DeNero, Molly Davies, Christopher Davies, Rebecca DeNero, Paige Davies, Olivia Davies.

Services held at the Maher-Collins Funeral Home, Kingston, PA. Mass of Christian Burial at the Church of St. Ignatius Loyola, Kingston, PA. Interment at St. Charles Cemetery, Farmingdale, NY.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, NY.
