DOROTHY BLUMENSTEIN
April 18, 1926 - May 3, 2014

Dorothy Elizabeth Abbott was born in Fayetteville, Arkansas on April 18, 1926. Dorothy married Neil E. Blumenstein on July 10, 1948; he lovingly called her "Dottie."

Dorothy E. Blumenstein was preceded in death by her daughter Sharon Kay Blumenstein and is survived by her husband Neil Blumenstein and their children Alan, Larry, Jenny, Jim and Mary, many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and her sister, Pauline Spaulding.

In addition to raising her six children, Dorothy embraced many members of her extended family as her own, and provided help and guidance when it was needed most. She will be deeply missed by all those who were touched by her boundless compassion.

A memorial service was held on May 4th in the chapel at Willamette Lutheran Retirement Community in Keizer, Oregon. There was not sufficient time to get this notice in the newspaper before the service.

Her husband, Neil, will keep Dorothy's ashes. Upon Neil's death, they will both be buried at Willamette National Cemetery in Portland, Oregon.
