Susanna Negley was born in Bedford county, Penn., Jan. 22, 1841, and died April 15, 1922, aged 81 years, 2 months and 24 days. In 1806 she united with the Methodist church at Bunker Hill, Ill. In 1870 she was married to William Kelley of Buda, Ill. Ten years later they came to Iowa. Seven children were born to them, all of whom except one, are living. Besides the husband, the following children mourn the departure of their loving mother. John Kelley and Mrs. Sadie Landon of Des Moines, William Kelley of Shelby, Neb.; Mrs. Mary Waller of near Ellston; Mrs. Myrtle Woollums of Beaconsfield; and Charles Kelley of Humeston, Iowa. Her only living brother, Joseph [sic] Negley, passed away the same day of her death in Eldorado, Neb. Funeral services were held in the Beaconsfield Methodist church at 2 o'clock Monday, April 17, by Rev. Theo Kies. Interment in Grand River cemetery.
