I believe the mother of Fredrick Henry to be Eldariah Brewer who is found on the 1870 Federal Census with Charles Brewer in Flint, Genesee, Michigan. In 1870 Fredrick is about 27 years old and Eldariah is 80 years old so she might be his grandmother rather than his mother.

He used the name Fredrick or Fred up through the 1880 census and then changed over to Henry. He is listed as Fred on the death certificate of his son, John. He is listed as Henry on the death certificates of sons Frederick, Edward, Noah, and daughter Emma. He is listed as Henry on his obituary.

The 1900 Federal Census says he entered the US in 1852 ~ The 1910 Federal Census says he entered the US in 1857. In both cases the year is difficult to read.

Fredrick Brewer married Mary O'Dell 14 Sep 1870 in Genesee County, Michigan. The ceremony was performed by L G Bickford, Justice of the Peace. Witnesses to the marriage were John Kidd of Flint, Michigan and Charles Brewer of Flint, Michigan.

NOTE: They were more likely married ca 1860 and this date is a recording date. The 1910 census says they were each married 1 time and were married for 50 years.

By Aug 1873 Frederick Henry and Mary had moved to Kansas; by 1880 they were in Nebraska; by 1910 they were in South Dakota having spent a short time in Alberta Canada.

Gravesite Details

In reply to a request for a stone photo this was received: I visited with the cemetery office today, and they have no record of Fredrick Henry Brewer. During that time period, they have people who were buried and the information was not recorded...
