He retired as shipping foreman for Missouri Industries in Dexter.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
He was a member of the First Assembly of God Church.
On April 13, 1974, in Bollinger County, he married Mary Karen Leadbetter, who survives of the home.
Other survivors include two daughters, Jennifer Laird of Advance, MO; and Laura Abbott of Benton, MO; one half-brother, Emery Abbott of Sikeston, MO; two half-sisters, Willena Krueger of Success, AR; and Francis Sherman of Arnold, MO; and one granddaughter of Advance, MO.
He was preceded in death by one half-brother.
Visitation is today at Morgan Funeral Home where services will be conducted Tuesday with Brad Moore and Gary Cooper officiating. Burial will follow in the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery at Bloomfield.
