Wilton J. Aucoin Sr. a lifelong resident of Berwick passed away April 17, 2014 in Morgan City at the age of 91.

Wilton was a World War II Army veteran his service for our country took him to the South Pacific, The Philippines and Japan, attaining the rank of Sargent he lead his men with great honor and dignity. Working in the oil field to provide for his families every need, he worked for Arthur Levy and, Odeco for 23 years. Wilton was a LIFE Member of the VFW, and a Life Member of The American Legion he was Commander of the VFW for a year, working by his wife Mary's side they called many games of Bingo, and gave out tons of Poppies.

Wilton was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend. He will be sadly missed by all those who were made better by knowing this great man.

Wilton leaves behind to cherish his memories, his wife of 63 wonderful years Mary Louise Aucoin, his three sons Barry and his wife Pam, Wilton Jr. and his wife Jackie , and Bret and his wife Peggy Aucoin. Four daughters Chandra Donati, Rhonda and her husband Harley Mello, Cathy and her husband Jack Schultz, and Shirley Duval. Wilton is also survived by his 20 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren and one great- great grandchild.

Wilton was preceded in death by his parents Oscar and Edna Aucoin, son Randy, grandchildren Kern and Keith.

Visitation will be held at Hargrave Funeral Home Saturday April 19, 2014 from 10 am until services at 3 pm. The East St. Mary Veterans Funeral Squad will conduct full military honors, with the presentation of the American Flag and a 21 Gun Salute.

Wilton will be laid to rest in the Morgan City Cemetery.
