U.S. Army Veteran of World War II

Ray P. Rinehart, 86, of East Rochester, passed away Monday, May 25, 2009, in Heritage Valley Beaver.

Born March 31, 1923, in Vadis, W.Va., he was a son of the late Arestis R. and Diora Mason Rinehart. He was a retired employee with the former Westinghouse Corp. of Vanport. Protestant by faith, he was a World War II U.S. Army veteran, serving in the Asiatic Pacific Theatre and was a recipient of the Bronze Star and the Bronze Arrowhead.

He was an avid hunter and fisherman.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Ednamae Black Rinehart; a daughter and son-in-law, Linda K. and Edward C. "Butch" Sporcic, Freedom; a son, Richard P. "Rick" Rinehart, Moorestown, N.J.; five grandchildren, Abbie Fyke and her husband, James, Delran, N.J.; Craig Rinehart and his wife, Meaghan, Maple Shade, N.J.; Joanna R. Rinehart, Palmyra, N.J.; Michael E. and Tracy L. Sporcic, both of Freedom; a great-granddaughter, Gwyneth Fyke, Delran, N.J.; a beloved nephew, Nelson Rinehart and his wife, Birdie, Parkersburg, W.Va.; numerous other nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by four brothers and three sisters.

There will be no public visitation. Friends are invited to attend a memorial blessing service on Friday at 11 a.m. in the WILLIAM MURPHY FUNERAL HOME INC., 349 Adams St., Rochester Officiating will be Father Mike Greb, pastor of St. Cecilia Roman Catholic Church.

The family wishes memorial contributions be given to the Beaver County Cancer and Heart Association, 3582 Brodhead Road, Suite 104, Monaca, PA 15061.
