Another Citizen Gone.
It is with feelings of deep regret that we announce to our readers the sudden death of another of our citizens this week. John S. Maxwell, son of the Hon. Hugh Maxwell, was attacked at his residence on Wednesday evening last, by a disease of the heart, as is supposed, and in a short time departed this life. Mr. Maxwell filled the position under Harrison's Administration, we believe, of Secretary of Legation to the Court of Russia, and was the author of that pleasant book. "The Czar, his Court and People.” In this community he was well and pleasantly known and his genial smile, and frank, affable manner were such as to make him a favorite with all whom be came in contact. Progressive in his ideas, and thoroughly identified with the interests of our village, his loss will be deeply felt by us all, and by none more than his amiable wife and daughter. May the turf lie lightly upon the remains of our friend.— lbid.
