He was the son of William Lee Midkiff, Sr & Lilly Pearl (Bailey) Midkiff. He was a retired Master Sergeant in the Marines. He was a 1st cousin of Sarah Midkiff Agnew.

Terry Golden officiating. Burial will follow at Seaside Memorial Park with Military Honors. He retired after serving 22 years in the U. S. Marine Corps; he was a member of Bear Creek Baptist Church and was a Meals on Wheels volunteer. Survivors include wife of 56 years, Lora Midkiff; sons, Mark Midkiff of Newport, Dale Midkiff of Atlanta, GA, and Gerald Midkiff of Hubert; six grandchildren; and sister, Minota Beckner of Roanoke, VA.
