"Greenfield, Jan. 25 - Carl Luther Hamilton, 73, of 11 Walnut St., died early tonight in Franklin County Public Hospital. Born on June 15, 1882, in South Vernon, Vt., he was the son of Henry Luther and Clara Ellen (Porter) Hamilton. He retired last July as a conductor for the Boston and Maine Railroad after 55 years of service. He was a member of the Brotherhood of Railroad Trainmen. His wife, the former Gertrude Richards, died in 1948. Survivors include five sons, Vere of Easthampton, Richard of Lowell, Clyde of Greenfield, Leonard William of Greenfield, and Charles of Torrington, Conn.; nine grand-children; one sister, Mrs. Clara Finn of Springfield; and a nephew, Earl Dunbar of Greenfield. Services will be Saturday at 2 p. m. at the McCarthy funeral home with Rev. Ralph L. Rood of First Baptist Church officiating. Burial will be in Green River Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 7 p. m. Thursday up to the time of the funeral."
