Bob, 84, went to meet his savior on Wednesday at Samaritan Albany General Hospital.

He was born in Linn Grove, Ind., the son of Cornelius and Emma (Steffan) Bertsch.

He served in the Coast Guard during World War II. He worked as a custodian at Corvallis High School for 10 years before retiring.

Bob married Wilma Wehmeier Stockton in 1974.

He is survived by wife Wilma; children Ruth Greenan, Teri Weidt, LeAnne Boldenow, Noah Bertsch, David Bertsch and Mark Stockton; 11 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; brother Louis Bertsch; and sisters Louise and Betty.

He was preceded in death by daughter Rebecca Bertsch and brother Arthur.

A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Joe Lack Chapel at Albany First Assembly of God, 2817 Santiam Highway S.E.
