Arlene Maria Bridges, 56 of Benton went to her eternal home May 10, 2014 in Little Rock. She was born March 21, 1958 in Pisa, Italy to the late Joseph Kindell and Franca (Redini) Bridges. Arlene was a Christian, and lived for her family, her many friends, her cats and scrapbooking. She was a public school and special education teacher in Arkansas and Mississippi for over sixteen years. Arlene served as a Special Olympics Coordinator, was a past President of the Association for Retarded Citizens, a former Teacher of the Year and a Master Scrapbooker. Arlene's unique perspective on life, her strong personality, quirky sense of humor and big heart will be missed by all who knew her.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Jenny Skorupa.

Survivors include her brother, Bruno Bridges of North Little Rock; a nephew that she considered as a son, Austin Skorupa; other nephews, Cody Bridges and Tyler Hill; nieces Laura Hill, Kyndel Hill, Magen Schaub, and Kimberly Tannehill and many beloved friends.

Funeral services will be held at the Northside Church of Christ at 10:00 A.M. on Wednesday, May 14, 2014, with Toney Stowers officiating. Interment will follow at New Rosemont Memorial Park. Serving as pallbearers will be Cody Bridges, Fernando Toledo, Richard Clark, Brent Houston, Austin Skorupa, and Brian Sewell.

A visitation is scheduled for Tuesday evening, May 14, from 6:00-8:00 P.M. in the chapel of Roller-Ballard Funeral Home (501-315-4047).

In lieu of flowers or food, donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN, 38105.
