Goshen High School in 1935. Gene
served in the U. S. Army during World
War II. spending time in Germany and
France.
On Oct. 29, 1942 he was married to
Mardell Mohr at Goshen, Ind. They lived
in Sioux Rapids from 1948 until 1957,
when they moved to Storm Lake where
they continued to live.
Gene was employed in sales and
management at HyGrade Food Products
until retiring in 1982. In recent years he
had served as sexton of St. Mary's
Cemetery. He also enjoyed contributing
his time and work at the K. C. bingo program.
He was a member of St. Mary's
Church and the Knights of Columbus. His
hobbies included reading and traveling to
Ireland.
Preceding him in death were his parents,
his wife, Mardell; a brother, Frank
and a sister, Carrie.
