RUSSELL R. BRUMBAUGH Sr. age 91, of Canton died Friday, May 9, 2014 after a period of declining health. Born Nov. 23, 1922 in Dover, Ohio to the late Homer and Elizabeth (Shear) Brumbaugh. He was a Canton resident most of his life and a WWII Army Air Corps veteran. He retired from Diebold in 1983 after 40 years of service. Russell was a member of Eden Church of the Brethren. He had formerly been involved with the Sippo District of the Buckeye Council Boy Scouts of America.
Preceded in death by his wife, Audrey J. Brumbaugh in 2003; three brothers, Arthur, Edgar and Lawrence Brumbaugh; two sisters, Thelma Barkley and Ruth Price. He is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Russell R. Jr. and Carol Brumbaugh of Cape Coral, Fla., Martin and Michelle Brumbaugh of Carrollton; one daughter and son-in-law, Cheryl and Ward Hostetler of Canton; two granddaughters, Megan (Mark) Fierstos, Melissa (Todd) Schaar; two step-granddaughters, Jill Ramsey and Jody Cripe; seven great grandchildren; one brother and sister-in-law, Chester and Barb Brumbaugh of Canton; one sister-in-law, Shirley Brumbaugh of Canton; several nieces and nephews.
The family would like to give special thanks to the Sterling House and Crossroads Hospice. Funeral services will be Wednesday, May 14, 2014 at 11 a.m. in Eden Church of the Brethren with Pastor Jeff Ellsworth officiating. Interment in Eden Cemetery. Friends may call one hour prior to the service on Wednesday at the church from 10 - 11 a.m. Kreighbaum-Sanders 330-484-2525
