Ira "Lee" Elliott was born on April 26, 1930 in Huntsville, Alabama, the son of Newt Elliott (1908–1970) and Maggie "Pearl" (Crowell) Elliott (1910–1982).
He attended North High School in Nashville, Tennessee, served in the US Marine Corps during the Korean Conflict and was retired from both Werthan Bag Company and Bridgestone.
Lee was married to Veda "Carolyn" Vaden (1935-1997) of Carthage, the daughter of Elbert Vaden (1897–1970) and Leora (Young) Vaden (1898–1984).
He was 84 years old and a resident of Mount Juliet when he passed away on May 11, 2014.
Survivors included a married daughter and four grandchildren.
Burial was in Middle Tennessee Veteran's Cemetery in Nashville, Davidson County.
