Abigail Dickinson Carpenter, daughter of Joseph Carpenter (1720-1792) and Abigail Dickinson (abt. 1728-bef. 1760), married William "Grandfather Billy" McClung bef. 1768, likely in Augusta County, Virginia. Abigail's Grandfather was Adam Dickinson, who is mentioned in "William McClung and Abigail, his wife vs. Dickinson" in Chalkley's, Vol. 2, 11 March, 1803.
Not sure where the "Dickson" name came from, but it is clearly spelled "Dickinson" in records of Augusta and Greenbrier Counties for this family.
