Oct 31, 1928 - Humboldt Republican - William Russell McGuire was born on March 3, 1858, at Excelsior Springs, Mo., and died October 20, 1928, at the home of his son, Lester McGuire, at Storm Lake, Iowa, at the age of seventy years, seven months, and seventeen days.
He went to reside in Webster county when he was twenty years old and resided on a farm near Dayton. In the year 1893 he moved to Fort Dodge where he resided until five years ago at which time he moved to Humboldt where he lived until his health failed. He then went to Storm Lake to reside with his son.
On December 4, 1881, he was united in marriage to Laura Knieriem, to which union four children were born. Two of these died in infancy.
He is survived by his wife, two children, Lester McGuire of Storm Lake and Mrs. Carrie Daniels of Fairmont, Minn., also four grandchildren, Mrs. Mae Peterson of Redfield, Iowa, Helen McGuire of Storm Lake, and Ross and Russell Daniels of Fairmont, Minn. He also leaves three brothers and five sisters. He was a member of the Baptist church and the Shrine.
