Beloved Shelton Woman Succumbs at 75 After Illness of Several Weeks
Mrs Agnes Perrin Cogburn Addison, 73, wife of Walter L Addison of Shelton, died at 6:30 yesterday afternoon at the Baptist Hospital after an illness of several weeks.
Born in Edgefield, Mrs Addison had made her home for the past 20 years in Shelton. She taught school in many towns in the state, devoting her active years to the instruction of children.
Her death will be mourned by hundreds.
Mrs Addison was a member of Shivar Spring Baptist church of Shelton.
Besides her husband, she is survived by two sons, the Rev S P Cogburn of Shelton and the Rev R F Cogburn of Rock HIll; one sister, Miss May Cogburn, and three brothers, B S Cogburn of Bamberg, R C Cogburn of Beaumont, Texas and L E Cogburn of Columbia.
Funeral services will be held at 4 o'clock this afternoon at Johnston Baptist church at Johnsont. The Rev W S Brooks of Columbia, assisted by the Rev T A Snyder of New Brookland and the Rev Broadus Wall of Johnston, will officiate. Interment will be in Mt Olive cemetery in Johnston beside the grave of her first husband, Benjamin S Cogburn.
Pallbearers will be Edwin Mobley, John Wright, Luke Wright, Jim Crim, the REv Hamlin Etheredge and Simmie Asbill.
